Textielkunst, textielkunstenaar: Wat doe je dan? Wat maak je dan? Textiel is voor mij een heel breed begrip. Natuurlijk vallen daar alle bekende textiele materialen en technieken onder. Maar ik neem ook de vrijheid om met materialen te werken die mij aan textiel doen denken, papier, touw, ijzerdraad, gipsverband, alles met vezels en draden. Mijn werk is poëtisch van aard. Terugkerende elementen in mijn werk zijn transparantie, verstilling, gelaagdheid. Mijn werk bestaat uit kleine 3D- objecten en foto’s van delen uit eigen textielwerk, vaak sterk uitvergroot. Textile art, being a textile artist brings up questions: “What do you do? What do you make?” To me, textile is a very broad concept. Of course it includes all known textile materials and techniques. But I also take the liberty to work with materials that remind me of textiles, paper, rope, iron wire, plaster casts, anything with fibers and threads. My work is poetic in nature. Recurring elements in my work are transparency, stillness, layering. My work consists of small 3D objects and photographs of parts from my own textile work, often greatly enlarged.
