KIKA NOTTEN
Kika Notten heeft zich gespecialiseerd in het schilderen met ei-tempera, een techniek met evenveel mogelijkheden als beperkingen. Het schilderproces is langzaam, werken met ei-tempera vergt geduld. De schilderijen worden interessant na vele lagen min of meer transparante verf waardoor het werk zijn intensiteit en diepte krijgt. Ergens in die lagen zit het schilderij verborgen dat langzaam maar zeer opdoemt, dat proces is altijd weer spannend en verrassend, als een reis met een onbekende bestemming. Kika vind haar inspiratie in de natuur. Sinds 2020 is haar thema ‘World on Fire’.
Kika Notten has specialised in painting with egg tempera paint. A technique with as many possibilities as restrictions. The painting process is long and slow and you need patience. The paintings start to get interesting after layers and layers of more or less transparent paint and this gives the work its intensity and depth. Somewhere in all these layers the painting starts to reveal itself slowly but surely, this process is always exciting and has an element of surprise. It’s like a journey to an unknown destination. Kika finds her inspiration in nature. Since 2020 her main theme is “World on Fire”.
