Sinds mijn kindertijd is tekenen mijn liefste bezigheid. Ik herinner me een tekenwedstrijd op school, waar ik de 1e prijs won met een bloemenbeeld, chrysanten. Het werd zelfs in China getoond. Ik ben in Oost-Duitsland – toen DDR – opgegroeid en dat banden had met dit land. Na beëindiging van mijn professionele carrière stortte ik me vol enthousiasme op het schilderen. Ik heb een opleiding in acryl en met olieverf schilderen gehad bij uitstekende kunstenaars in Duitsland en Nederland, waaronder Anemieke de Roy van Zuijdewijn, die mij de schildertechniek van de oude Hollandse meesters leerde. Mijn favoriete objecten zijn landschappen, architectuur, grafische elementen tot abstracte vormen.
Sinds 1993 is mijn tweede residentie Scheveningen, waar de zee, het historische stadsbeeld van Scheveningen en Den Haag me steeds weer inspireert.
Since childhood, drawing has been my favorite activity. I remember a drawing contest in school, where I won 1st prize with a flower sculpture, chrysanthemums. It was even shown in China. I grew up in East Germany – then GDR – which had ties to this country. After ending my professional career I enthusiastically threw myself into painting. I trained in acrylic and oil painting with excellent artists in Germany and the Netherlands, including Anemieke de Roy van Zuijdewijn, who taught me the painting techniques of the old Dutch masters. My favorite objects are landscapes, architecture, graphic elements to abstract forms.
Since 1993 my second residence is Scheveningen, where the sea, the historical townscape of Scheveningen and The Hague always inspire me.
